We restored the Japanese black lacquer pillars in this house in Oakland, Ca. that was built in the 1890's. The finish had become dull and chalky so we french polished them with black shellac to restore their original beauty while preserving the original finish.  ​

Most of the legs on mahogany Steinway pianos are not mahogany at all. This leg is in the process of having matching grain painted on.​

This old 1904 model C was musically restored by Callahan piano service and refinished by Bepler Hillemeyer. This piano was originally ebonized but our client wanted it an English brown mahogany color. the lids and and the outside are mahogany, but most of the rest of the case and parts were birch or poplar.
